wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man!
No carnival is ever complete unless you have a couple of these wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men! This was the line to sign the release waiver and to get a pretty cool homecoming carnival t-shirt. Everyone in line was really excited and couldn't wait to have fun.

Admissions counselors having fun!
Here's Rebecca Fortier, an undergraduate admissions counselor. A bunch of counselors came to the carnival to unwind after a long Friday in the office. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of them skydiving.
-
bungees
This is the bungee trampoline where everyone could do flips at up to 20 feet in the air. There weren't that many people lined up for this one, so each person got around 5-10 minutes of air time.

All you can eat
At any college event, the longest lines are probably for the food. There were burgers, hot dogs, , nachos, corn on the cob, ice cream, and more. The food tasted better that I had expected. I probably should have layed off the jalepenos.

Oh man, the food smelled great. The burgers, hot dogs, and chicken were served right off the grill.

tron
If you put two of the greatest things together, laser tag and moonbounce, you get what they call 'tron'. It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of people inside. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
-
balloon animals
Lisa and Beth are both student ambassadors for the office of undergraduate admissions. They both have a talent of making the most amazing balloon animals, but I think that they specialize in hats.

More lines?!
This is the same line at the entrance of the carnival to sign the release and to get a t-shirt. This was early on at the carnival, so the line wasn't that long. It was definitely worth the wait though.

Sumo wrestling at the carnival was pretty popular. Wearing plastic/material filled suits and "hair" helmets, it gets pretty hard to move, so all you can basically do is hop around and bump into your opponent. The girl completely dominated this guy in round one.

Adrenaline Rush is an obstacle course where you have to crawl and climb through various spaces. The fact that you're competing against another person makes it much more interesting. However, it is incredibly tiring and takes about a minute to accomplish.

And here was the la piece de resistance. This was a blowdryer X 1000 that blew people several feet above the floor of the moon bounce arena. There were a couple of experts that were in the arena as well to help you get your bearings. Once you got a hang of it, you could spin and even do flips. It was pretty amazing.

Giant q-tips
If you've seen 'American Gladiator', you definitely know what this is. But if you haven't, then this is basically two people standing on a pedestal with giant q-tips trying to beat the snot outta their opponent and making them fall. That's not a smile on that girl's face, its a grimace of utter disgust and rage.

Avalanche Mountain
Personally, I would never attempt to climb anything called "Avalanche Mountain". However, these brave souls had no doubt in their minds that they could make it to the top.
-
Race and stretch
I'm not actually sure what this is called, but the object is to run as far down the track as you can and to stick your marker. The only problem with this is that you're tied to the start by a bungee cord. Whoever's marker is furthest, wins. This was the most entertaining thing in the world to watch. I watched about 25-30 rounds, laughing.

Who knew tech kids could party like its 1999? This here is the Pritzker club, a full service restaurant in the MTCC. They took out all the tables, put a sound system, lights, and a dj together, and voila. Glow stick were also given to all the students which made the club 10 times better.

This guy was an awesome dancer. That's all I can really say.

Here's a shot of the DJ. He definitely knew what he was doing and he was getting pretty into the music as well. The most important thing was that he was playing some great dance music, not just the mainstream stuff you hear on the radio all day.

Those crazy cats foolin' around in the back are Evy and Fabio, two important people in the office of Residence Life. If you plan on living on campus at IIT, you're going to meet one of them sooner or later. It's great to know that not every staff member is an old grouch. They like to have fun just like everyone else on campus.

Oh man, the free food! Gourmet meatballs, breaded chicken and mushrooms, and bruschetta. Those were the only excuse to not dancing the entire night.

Finally, here's Victoria, a residence hall supervisor. She started to work in the office of residence life over the summer and has been heavily involved in activities for students living in the residence halls. As you can, she is no stranger when it comes down to having fun with fellow staff and the students.
