May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
As you may know, May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
Various student organizations and campus departments and faculty members from IIT and around Chicago will come together this month for a series of events to recognize and celebrate Asian Pacific American heritage and culture. Today, the festivities kicked off in our own Perlstein Hall (home to the Office of Undergraduate Admission, dontcha know) with:
...free Chinese food for all,
...a performance by professional taiko (Japanese drumming) musicians,
...and dancing, all leading to...
...a panel discussion entitled, "Libery and Freedom for All: Embracing the Present, Igniting Our Future," sponsored by the National Association of Asian American Professionals.
The whole lunchtime event was organized by the Office of Multicultural Student Services here at IIT. I'll be in touch over the course of the next month with updates on the continuing celebrations!

Before I depart for the evening, however, I must check in regarding another thing that May 1 brings - a deadline by which to reply to your offer of enrollment at IIT, if you are an incoming freshman student in any major or transfer student to the College of Architecture. If you would like an extension on your deadline, please contact your admission counselor to see if that is possible.
For those of you we have heard from today - welcome to IIT!
