IIT - Inventing the Future

My name is Nate, and I graduated from IIT in the Spring of 2007 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Now, I am in the Math and Science Education program at IIT, currently seeking my Master's Degree.

This semester I am student teaching at Whitney Young Magnet High School, here in Chicago! I love it. As an engineer, my goal was to solve problems. As a teacher, my goal is to get our youth to solve problems. I try to make each day relevant to each of the students. As time goes on, I try to develop problem solvers because, as we all know, there is no shortage of problems in life.

In less than a month, I will be getting married to a wonderful woman. She currently attends IIT and will be graduating in about two weeks with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. She already has one job offer from Lockheed Martin doing classified work. I don't even know what it is! That sounds cool. She is also interviewing with other Aerospace companies which inlcude: Boeing, General Electric, and Pratt & Whitney. She's probably going to make more money as an engineer than I will as a teacher. But that's ok. She's my wife, that means we will be on the same team.

My advice, if you are planning to get married: make sure you have a lot of spare time to plan everything. If you don't, it will burn you out. Oh, and don't forget to marry someone you love...preferably someone who is good looking.
