Food @ IIT

Food @ IIT

One question that I often receive is How is the food at IIT? Well, I think it is pretty good and you would find that most IIT students agree.

There are a variety of options for students on campus including the following: The Commons, Center Court, Pritzker Club, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Global Grounds Café and The Bog.

The Commons. Located in the MTCC the Commons Cafeteria is the resident dining hall for IIT students on meal plans.

  • The Commons offers a wide variety of options including breakfast all day, vegetarian, pizza, grill, salad bar, soup bar, international and classic stations and desserts. The best part is the frozen yogurt machine—chocolate, vanilla and swirl!
  • It is all you can eat for “one meal” on the meal plan—my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach.
  • They have Uncommon Days which are specials in addition to all of the regular options: http://www.iit.edu/~sodexho/documents/UnCommonDaysJanMay2009.pdf
  • There are featured days throughout the week: Indian Tuesdays, Taco Thursdays, and Grillin’ Out Fridays.

The Bog. Located in Herman Hall, the Bog is a place where students, faculty, alumni and the University community come together for drinks, bowling, darts, pool, video games, entertainment and a great time!

  • The Bog food menu includes pizzas, sandwiches, potato skins, fries, onion rings, egg rolls and nachos with chilli.
  • Students may use their Bonus Points and Techcash for good and non-alcoholic drink purchases in the Bog.
  • For more information about food and entertainment as well as pictures at the Bog, please click here.

Center Court Café. Located in the MTCC, Center Court offers students a quick meal option on their IIT student meal plans.

  • Center Court offers options including the new Far East Fusion; Smart Market grab-n-go items; Grill 155: burgers, fries, quesadillas, and more; Stacks Deli: made to order deli sandwiches and paninis; Freschetta Pizzas; and a 12 item salad bar.
  • All items are priced to deduct from students’ meal plans, Bonus Points and Techcash.

Einstein Bros. Bagels. Located in Hermann Hall, Einstein's offers darn good food and darn good coffee.

  • IIT welcomed Einstein to campus this year--it was a great addition to campus.  I am a huge fan of their hazelnut coffee!
  • Students may use their Bonus Points or Techcash to purchase items from Einstein.

Pritzker Club. Located in the MTCC, Pritzker Club is IIT’s full service restaurant.

  • Students, faculty and staff may dine in the Mies inspired dining room for a sit-down dining experience.
  • Pritzker Club offers students a variety of options from the pritzker burger, and university club sandwich to entrees such as seared top sirloin filet and cilantro and tequila grilled chicken breast. Click here to see the full menu.
  • Students may dine in the Pritzker Club by using Bonus Points or TechCash.
  • They have special services available for students for holidays—i.e. Valentine’s Day dinner.

Global Grounds Café. Located in the MTCC, Global Grounds is the central nervous system of campus!

  • Global Grounds serves fair trade Green Mountain coffees and NRgize smoothies.
  • There are a variety of baked goods available throughout the day including muffins, scones, and cookies.
  • Students may use their Bonus Points or TechCash to purchase items from Global Grounds.

All students who live-on campus their first-year are required to purchase a meal plan at IIT. If students plan to commute from home have the option to purchase a smaller meal. More information about meal plan options can be found at: http://www.iit.edu/~sodexho/documents/MealPlans20082009.pdf

Thanks,

Carolyn

I like using EmplomentCrossing. to .. Search jobs due to the fact that the site shows only j employment listings .. from employer career pages and no other advertisment. There are numerous advantages to finding jobs .. from employer career pages but the main ones are
• these are not advertised and receive fewer applications and
• (2) there is no middleman (recruiter) forwarding your resume to the employer and
• (3) there are more jobs on employer career pages than job boards.
• the job postings from direct employers is there
one of the best jobs sites I have ever seen. Ill give it 10 out of 10 if I have to give points to it. I and many of my known has got Jobs from EmplomentCrossing.. You can search jobs with easy as the classification is very good in terms of cities and type of job...
It also gives you career advice and job search advice Latest jobs are given on this site as soon they are available in a particular area or before any other site posts that as It shows the jobs from direct Recruiters and no third party is involved in between for making money. Latest job appear first on this site and no expired jobs are there. Updating is done everyday.
The number of jobs given is also guide big as compared to other sites. Jobs are included from most of the fortune 500 companies.
When I was jobless and searching for job every second site only this site helped me to find job... Just go through it once and you will feel the difference. I seriously recommend all the When I was job seekers to visit EmplomentCrossing. once.
